Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
The short version
live n frame collects the minimum data needed to give actors a place to practice and submit auditions, and to give casting directors a place to receive and review them. We don't sell your data. We don't use your audition recordings to train AI models. We use third-party services (Clerk, Firebase, Stripe, ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Anthropic, Resend) that each handle a specific part of the platform — they all have their own privacy policies and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 commitments.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address and name (via Clerk authentication).
- Profile information you choose to add: headshot, headline, location, union status, agent and manager details, bio, physical stats, demo reel, additional photos, resume, voice sample, special skills, training history.
- Audition scripts and sides you upload (PDFs and pasted text).
- Video recordings and audio you create through the practice and audition flows.
- Notification preferences and subscription preferences.
- For casting directors: company name, logo, contact email, and casting posts you create.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — which pages you visit, which features you use, what time you used them. Helps us understand which features matter and which to improve.
- Device and browser information — operating system, browser version, screen size, referring URL. Helps us debug issues and ensure the app works on your device.
- Practice analytics — number of sessions, recordings, and AI feedback runs. Used to compute your live n frame Stats badge and your progress dashboard.
Information collected via third parties
- Stripe handles all payment information for Pro subscriptions. We never receive or store your full card number, expiry, or CVC. Stripe sends us a customer ID and subscription status.
- Clerk handles authentication. We receive a user ID from Clerk and basic profile info you provide during signup.
- If you enable Stripe Tax, Stripe collects address information for tax calculation purposes.
How we use it
- To run the platform: store your profile, deliver your recordings, generate AI feedback, send your submissions to casting directors.
- To send notifications you've opted into: submission alerts, deadline reminders, casting matches, status changes.
- To process payments and provide subscription billing through Stripe.
- To improve the product: aggregated and anonymized usage data tells us which features to prioritize.
- To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, lawful requests).
What we don't do: sell your data to third parties for marketing. Train AI models on your audition recordings or scripts. Share your submissions with anyone other than the casting director you submitted them to.
AI processing
When you use the AI scene partner, transcription, or scoring features, your audio and script content is sent to third-party AI providers for processing:
- ElevenLabs generates speech for the AI scene partner from script text.
- OpenAI Whisper transcribes your recordings into text for analysis.
- Anthropic Claude analyzes your transcript and generates the structured feedback and scores.
- ConvAI manages real-time conversational turn-taking during recording sessions.
These providers process your data under their own privacy policies. To our knowledge, none of them retain your content for training their models when accessed via paid API (which is how live n frame integrates with them). If this changes, we will update this policy and notify users.
Who can see what
- Your audition recordings are private to you by default. They become visible to a casting director only when you actively submit one to that casting director's post.
- Your actor profile is visible to other authenticated users on the platform once you fill it in. Casting directors view your profile when reviewing submissions.
- Casting posts are public on the casting board if the CD chose "public" visibility, or accessible only via private link if the CD chose "private."
- Submissions are visible to the casting director the post belongs to and to you (the actor who submitted). No other actors can see your submissions.
- Live n frame Stats on your profile (practice sessions, average scores) are visible to casting directors only after you complete 10 practice sessions, and you can toggle them off.
Where we store data
Audition recordings, profile photos, scripts, and direction videos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage. Account data, profiles, scripts metadata, sessions, recordings metadata, feedback, casting posts, submissions, and notifications are stored in Firestore. Both are operated by Google Cloud Platform with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
Authentication data is held by Clerk. Payment data is held by Stripe. Email addresses for transactional notifications are passed to Resend at send time.
Your rights
- Access: You can view all your data through the app — your profile, recordings, feedback, submissions, casting posts.
- Correction: You can edit your profile and casting posts at any time.
- Deletion: Email support@livenframe.com to request account deletion. We will remove your account and associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records).
- Export: You can download individual recordings and PDF feedback reports from within the app. For a full data export, email us.
- Opt out of marketing: You can disable individual notification types in your profile settings. Transactional emails (submission confirmations, billing receipts) are required and cannot be turned off as long as you have an active account.

live n frame is not intended for users under 18. If we learn we have collected personal data from someone under 18 without parental consent, we will delete it.
